Star Wars Episode VIII The Last Jedi

YIPPEE
OK we have the title, I like it better than TFA, in fact I'd say this should've been the title for episode VII.
Anyway we also know that for the first time in the saga films TLJ will pick up immediately where TFA ended so when I found this and it made me laugh, so here's a segment of opening crawl for episode VIII....enjoy!

Star Wars Rebels S3E15 Trials of the Dark SabreThoughts and Impressions

I absolutely loved this episode, the Lucas Film story group and Dave Filoni has expanded the Star Wars universe more in 20 minutes than Jar Jar Abrams did in 2 hours with TFA!
For those who never watched TCW series one of the greatest story arc's was in season 5 episodes 102 "Eminence", 103 "Shades of Reason" and 104 "The Lawless"

This amazing story arc culminated in one of the most memorable fights in the entire Clone Wars series!

With this past Saturday's episode of Rebels we are reunited with the Darksabre and given some fascinating history of the unique lightsaber courtesy of Fen Rau. I hope to see or hear more about Tar Vizla the only Mandalorian inducted into the Jedi Order in the future!
HOLY CRAP A MANDALORIAN JEDI!!!!!

That there is plenty of awesome but no there's more!
When Fen Rau hooks Sabine up with Mando gauntlets and she beats Ezra we are treated to yet another gem that expands the SW canon Universe when Kanan tells Sabine "History Lesson...the Jedi won the war with Madalore" by saying this Rebels has officially brought a huge chunk of KOTOR legends into Canon and made it possible for D/LFL to revisit this time at a later point via Movies or TV/ Streaming Media Services!

Aside from the above 2 gems seeing Sabine let her emotions flow and knock Kanan on his ass (tapping into the dark side hmmmm) was great, I know some folks had a problem with this because she really wouldn't be able to do this but I chock it up to Kanan was always trying to break down her walls and if he didn't allow her to she would've fallen back into self doubt.

Nintendo Switch the hybrid handheld/ home console, my hopes and concerns

I am going to start this of with a quote from a friend of mine after seeing The Phantom Menance....
"George Lucas has more money than God and that's the best he could give us!?"
OK I'm going to alter my friend's quote slightly...
"Nintendo has about 10 BILLION in cash reserves and this is the best they can give us!?"

Annnnd here come the Nintendo fanboys to curse me....before you do though let me tell you I want to see Nintendo reclaim their former glory and if the trailer for Ultra Street Fighter II is any indication they remember the good ole days....
Here's a few more quotes for you Nintendo, "Those who dare win" and "If your hearts not in it, get the fuck out."
I've been reading alot of articles about the Switch and I've watched the Nintendo Treehouse video's on Youtube and I'm not sure the Switch will turn things around for Nintendo.
First, the MSRP of $299.99 USD seems a little steep when I was able to get a PS4 for $249.99 USD two years ago.
Aside from the price there are alot of things that aren't being clearly explained such as the launch line up, the exact annual cost of the Nintendo Online Service, what you get with the subscription besides the 1 monthly game download. I find it very interesting that voice chat is not available via the console but via a smartphone app.
How the hell is that gonna work with multiplayer online games? And since we're on the subject the Switch network functionality is strictly wireless, there is no Ethernet connection! coughlagcoughcough
In today's gaming market we take it for granted that our consoles do more than just play video games, our consoles also have access to today's streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube, HBO Now, Hulu, Twitch and Spotify etc. Will the Nintendo Switch offer this level of entertainment?

The other thing that I find alarming is the systems initial abysmal storage capacity....32 GB, yeah it's expandable with larger micro SD cards but that's on the consumer's dime.

In the end I think this console may get hardcore Nintendophiles  and a few casuals but it won't have the run away success the Wii had....Nintendo truly caught lightning in a bottle with the Wii. But I wish they'd just commit to competing against Sony and Microsoft with a serious console without the gimmicks!
Time will tell if gamers and 3rd party devs accept the Switch with open arms or if this console continues Nintendo's trend of non conformity and refusal to openly compete with Sony and Microsoft.

Movie Review: Kubo and the Two Strings

Kubo and the Two Strings is a beautiful story with a refreshing art direction, full of emotion that brought out the feels. My son wasn't feeling it till the end and then he wanted to watch it again immediately afterwards. Some parts could be a bit dark for younger viewers so children under 7 might get scared.
The movie was a bit predictable for me but I'm not the target audience.
This little gem totally flew under most people's radar, mine included.

How can Disney Lucasfilm fix the ST with the passing of Carrie Fisher?!

So with Disney putting the Kabash on a digital General Leia for Episode IX and the fandom split on recasting the iconic role I have come up with a solution no body has thought of!
The obvious solution for Leia's role in the ST is hire George to make TFA Special Edition where Leia joins Han aboard the Falcon when they go to Starkiller Base iso Finn and while Han and Chewie are planting charges Leia finds Rey, then Leia confronts Ben on the catwalk and uses Padme's line from RotS, "You're breaking my heart ya da yada yada" then Ben kills Leia! Han and Chewie witness it and yell NOOOO!! Leia's dead and Han lives, millions of fans mourn Princess Leia but also we get Han back!
VIOLA!

Star Wars Rebels Season 3 mid season trailer!

The mid season trailer for the third season of Rebels has just dropped!
Much like the season 2 mid season trailer the hype this trailer brings is crazy, I just hope we don't get a bunch of filler episodes till the season finale like S2.
I don't think we will because of ALL the core stories going on this season....Ezra and Kanaan....is Ezra going to the Dark Side? Kannan and Bendu, Ezra and Maul, Maul and his quest to find "him" (which apparently he does), Thrawn, when will observations conclude and we see him implement his master strategy!?
Sabine now has the Dark Sabre! When will we meet her mother and is it Bo Katan? Did Bo visit Ben while he was on Tatooine??? Inquiring minds want to know!
Will Orsen Krennic show up this season? next?
Seeing Rex and Saw reunite was great! Did I see Death Troopers?
I'm betting we see the different Rebel Cells unite in the finale against Thrawn as Maul reunites with an old "friend". And I'm betting Zeb isn't making it to S4 and Kallus is actually a double agent! I can't wait for SWR to return this Saturday and am soo fascinated how rebels will connect to Rogue One!

The 10 Coolest Star Wars Spaceships

What would Star Wars be without the many cool space ships that populate its universe? From starfighters to military cruisers and worn hunks of junk that separate Star Wars from the chrome aesthetic of countless other sci-fi stories, this vast armada is a true marvel of cinema and the science fiction genre.
Since the release of A New Hope in 1977, we've seen plenty of awesome ships on screen, on book covers, and in comic book panels. Who can forget the first time he/she laid eyes on an X-Wing as it prepared to attack the Death Star? Or the Millennium Falcon, as it made its escape from Tatooine? You can't possibly forget the cry of a TIE fighter once you've heard it.
We love so many of these ships that we've decided to list our favorites in no kind of particular order. We're not ranking them. We just want to appreciate one of the best aspects of Star Wars. Oh, and we're looking at both Legends and new canon ships. Because continuity doesn't really matter in this case. That said, we'll warn you now that you won't see the Death Star or Starkiller Base on this list. One's a space station and the other is an ice planet. Not the same thing. That's not to say they're not the coolest things ever, though!
