I've been saying it for years, when I first heard about this movie that I was more interested in Rogue one than TFA and this trailer has completely convinced me I was right.
I pray Rogue One does well in the BO because this is exactly what the franchise needs...to expand the universe. Aside from Daisey Ridley's Rey I prefer the cast of Rogue One, the story looks infinitely more interesting and doesn't rely on stupid macguffins, obsurity and an overwhelming amount of nostalgia that can be mistaken for un-originality and rehashing.
My only concern is Joe movie goer is gonna be totally confused where this movie fits in with continuity with TFA coming out last year and episode VIII next year.
Another fascinating tidbit is Rogue One has pulled a character from TCW animated series and brought him into the Live Action Universe, Saw Gerrera played by Forest Witaker has set a precedent that will help expand Star Wars down the line. Now we could see Grand Admiral Thrawn, Ahsoka Tanno and many others from all the other genre's of media that Star Wars exists.
